I never like to get bored with my hair and I'm itching to try something new...HENNA. What is Henna? According to "wiki" "Henna is is a flowering plant used since antiquity to dye skin, hair, fingernails, leather, and wool." For naturals, it is a chemical free way to color your hair. It only comes in darker colors but it is said to darken your darks and lighten your lights, if that makes sense. The color treatment is not the only benefit of Henna. It is said to act as a deep conditioning treatment that softens the hair and loosens the hairs curl pattern. For awhile I've been feeling like my hair color has become dull and dry. I was contemplating a chemical color treatment. Henna is clearly the better option! There are many brands of henna to choose from. While researching LUSH cosmetics for a new facial cleanser, I found they have a Henna bar. LUSH brand cosmetics are natural and handmade. So...I'll be taking a trip to my local LUSH kiosk inside Macy's. I'll be back for a review!! If anyone has used any LUSH products feel free to leave your comment!

Some of you may be concerned about how you can wear your natural hair in the work place. Not every employer understands our hair or views it as professional, just ignorance on their part. For those of you in a more conservative setting I have put together a collage of styles that could work for you! I would recommend searching google and YouTube for styles such as mini twists, twist updos, buns, and roller sets. If you're thinking of going for the Big Chop, there's no afro quite as classy as the TWA (teeny weeny afro). These are my go to styles when I want to tame my mane. When in doubt add a flower or headband accessory along with a pair of pearl earrings or a necklace.  #BIGhairdontcare
